What's the best time of year to look for a new nursery job in Bristol?

The Class Recruit team have had a few candidates asking this week what is the best time of year to look for a new nursery job in Bristol, so we thought a blog post on the topic would be a good idea.

In our experience of providing top quality Early Years candidates in Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire since 2009, nursery settings recruit throughout the year, unlike school settings which recruit around term times.

It can also be difficult for nursery nurses to decide when to leave their current role for a new setting, especially if they have a good relationship with their key children and families.

It's worth pointing out that when candidates take the next step in their Early Years practitioner careers, they always make fantastic new connections with families in each new role.

Having said goodbye to the children at a previous nursery setting means that there's no such thing as a bad time to progress a career in nursery work.

We recently wrote a blog post on top interview tips when applying for nursery agency jobs in Bristol which is useful reading.

Looking for a pre-school position in September is generally not the best time to look for a role, as pre-school children leave nurseries in August to start school in September.

This means that nursery settings in Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire tend to be quieter in September then start filling up from late-October onwards.

Check out these free nursery job-hunting resources from Class Recruit.

Some of our candidates also find that they are unsure what type of nursery agency work or Early Years setting they are looking for on a longer-term basis. The solution can often be temporary nursery jobs.

Read this to find out all you need to know about looking for temporary nursery jobs.

If you are flexible on the age group you want to work with, this opens up doors and options.

At Class Recruit, we're seeing a huge number of positions available in the Early Years environment.

January is a good time to start a new nursery job position, as a large number of Early Years settings are closed over Christmas and are open to new candidates in the New Year.

If you're unsure about how to start your job search, speak to an Early Years recruitment expert at our Bristol office to get all the help and guidance you need.

Read these comments from previous Early Years practitioners we've helped.

Class Recruit consultants are also available to speak in the evenings, as we appreciate it can be difficult to speak during the day when working in a nursery environment.

If you're considering a temporary job in nursery work, please see our latest vacancies for candidates here.
